Best Way To Organize And Store Spools Of Yarn

Vacuum sealing yarn

I have a love hate relationship with knitting. Sometimes I get in a mood where I just want to slow life down and keep it simple, turn off my phone and sit by the fire while knitting a blanket. When this mood strikes I tend to forget that it never lasts forever and I go buy yarn as if the store is running out and will never re-stock the stuff. Inevitably this mood goes away (usually mid project) and I am left with all this yarn that I didn't use, and that I know it will be awhile before I get around to using it.

In an effort to prevent a buildup of clutter in my living room I need to store all this yarn somehow, I used to have a really cute basket that I kept all of my yarn and knitting projects it. I still keep those half started projects in the basket because the needles would likely poke a hole in my VacMaster bag- and who know maybe one day I'll want to pick it up and work on it for a little bit.

For all the left over yarn and the unused balls of yarn, I use my VacMaster to vacuum package them. This makes it easy for me to neatly store them in the back of a closet or in an under the bed storage unit.
