Create a Vacuum- The Most Important Step In Sous Vide Cooking

Carrot, Ginger and Curry soup in chamber sealer

February 4th is Create a Vacuum Day. For many this is just another silly social media holiday, but here at VacMaster is was an excuse to have some fun and to look over the past few months. VacMaster vacuum sealers are masters of creating vacuums, whether it's for preparing the biggest meal of the year or experimenting to see if a vacuum sealer can crush a can, VacMaster vacuum sealers create a strong vacuum every time. Creating a strong vacuum is also the most important step in sous vide cooking.

Here is a quick look back at some of the vacuums we've created recently:

1. Soup

We've used the vacuum creating power of vacuum sealers to create three delicious soup recipes- If you haven't tried them yet, I recommend adding them to your recipe calendar. Take the fall staple to the next level anytime with this bold Pumpkin Soup. Perhaps you are a little more experimental, you could try this White Bean Soup option topped with a perfect sous vide cooked egg. If your New Year's resolution is a bit stricter, don't shy away from this Carrot, Ginger and Curry Soup

2. Meats

You can create a vacuum on your favorite meat anytime. We went shopping and bought in bulk and took a classic to the next level with Venison Bolognese, keeping everything fresh with a powerful vacuum seal. Creating a vacuum is integral to the magic of sous vide helping us make DuckPrime Rib and Walleye

3. Treats

Of Course we've had plenty of fun creating a vacuum on more than just the main dish. Whether you prefer to indulge in Cheese or Chocolate we've got the perfect Fondue to satisfy your taste buds. If you prefer to unwind with a cocktail a sous vide Eggnog may just hit the spot. Sometimes the best treat is a savory snack, we suggest Beef Jerky

When a poweful vacuum is created the possibilites are endless, be sure to check out the Fresh Bites Blog for more tips and tricks.
