Soups to Keep You Warm as Temperatures Drop

Whether you love winter, or hate it, the temperatures have dropped, and winter is here. Now it's time to seek out your favorite ways to warm up. For me, I like to light a fire, and settle in with a big blanket and a steamy bowl of soup. Here are some of my favorite sous vide soup recipes:

1. Michigan White Bean Soup with Collard Greens and Bacon Sous Vide

Top this tasty soup with a poached egg for a well-rounded meal. The combination of collard greens, beans and bacon, will leave you feeling full and satisfied. 
2. Oyster and Fingerling Potato Stew with Bacon Butter

Give your potato soup a seafood twist. This oyster and fingerling potato soup id everything you want all in one bowl. Did I mention there is bacon butter too?

3. Carrot, Ginger and Curry Soup Sous Vide

If like me, carrots are one of your favorite vegetables, this soup is right up your alley. The great thing about carrots is that they are more nutritious cooked then they are raw. Stay warm and healthy all winter long!

4. Shrimp & Crab Bisque Sous Vide

Simple and delicious, it's exactly what you're looking for in a meal when you spend all day running around trying to get everything done. Shell fish lovers will delight in the shrimp and crab that play the headline in this creamy bisque.

5. Pumpkin Soup Sous Vide

Halloween may be over, but this delicious soup is still an irresistible way to warm up. Top with some toasted pumpkin seeds to add a little texture and extra flavor, and you'll be headed back for seconds.
6. Split Pea Soup with Ham Bones & Hocks Sous Vide

This is the perfect soup for someone who likes to keep it simple. Toss everything in the bag, toss it in the water bath, and you're already half way there. Then after discarding any bones, you may puree if you wish, or not!
